VUW Club Funding Grants Database

Student clubs at Te Herenga Waka Victoria University of Wellington are funded in part by money collected from students through the Student Services Levy. Every fee-paying student therefore has a stake in how club funding is allocated, what activities are supported, and whether the system is working fairly.

This is a searchable record of VUW club funding grants. You can filter by club, applicant type, panel recommendation and year, then sort by amount or date to see which clubs received support, what was funded, and how much was approved.

How VUW club funding works

Clubs apply to the University’s club funding process for support with events, equipment, travel and other activities. Applications are assessed and given a pre-panel recommendation, then a panel decides the final amount approved. The money comes from the Student Services Levy, a compulsory fee paid by every enrolled student.

Where does this data come from?

It comes from club funding records released by the University and reproduced here in full. The source document is linked at the bottom of this page.

Why does the recommended amount sometimes differ from the amount approved?

The recommendation is made before the panel meets. The panel can approve more, less, or nothing at all, often after considering budgets or supporting documents supplied later in the process.

My club’s grant looks wrong. Can it be corrected?

Yes. Get in touch and we will check the entry against the source document and correct it if needed.
