Event details
The New Zealand Road Relay (NZRR) is the pinnacle event for New Zealand athletes in the domestic season attracting teams from all over the country. Teams complete in men’s and women’s teams in various age grades with 8 runners in each team for this particular event in Akaroa. VUWAC intends to send 3 teams to compete in the event in 2020, totaling 24 runners. Teams will via individually booked flights from Wellington to Christchurch on Friday 1st October, staying in Christchurch on Friday night, racing on Saturday 2 October, staying Saturday night in Christchurch, and flying back to Wellington on individual flights on Sunday 3 October. Vans (hired in Christchurch) will also be used to transport the teams to/from the airport and over the course on the day of the event. Accommodation for the two nights will be in a motel in Christchurch. The trip has been promoted internally within the club through our private facebook group and email list.
