Event details
This is the compulsory $20 registration fee for each of our active club members that have to be paid to Korfball New Zealand (KNZ). This ensures that our club is affiliated with Korfball New Zealand and International Korfball (IKF) and is paid at the end of a Korfball playing year. We are requesting the funding to pay for our 2020 fees for our 23 active members last year. In doing so, Korfball will continue to be known as an affordable and student-friendly sport to play at VUW! Additionally, we are applying for funding for two, two-hour full-court games, which will be held in week 8 of trimester 1 and 2 at Wellington Girls College. Hiring their facilities will cost $184. These contribute enormously to our skill-development as the court we train on weekly does not correspond to the actual size of a Korfball court. Lastly, the Secondary tournament in Christchurch enables us to create a network with New Zealand’s largest Korfball community. Having attended the tournament in 2019, we found it developed a fundamental team-cohesion and trust in each other. The tournament requires us to pay an entry fee of $230 for which we are hoping to receive funding. Additionally, travel costs in the city itself accumulated quickly, hence we are seeking a subsidy of $125.
