Event details
There are three main avenues of promoting our projects. The first is through social and digital media. The WCJP has a Facebook page with a strong following of almost 1700 people and an Instagram page. For each event we create a Facebook event, advertise the event on our own Facebook page and ask the Victoria University of Wellington Law Students’ Society (VUWLSS), the Faculty of Law and VUWSA to advertise the event on their Facebook pages. We also email contacts on our mailing lists and relevant stakeholders . The second is through print media. This includes posters advertising the event and providing key information which are then pinned in key areas in various locations of the University. The third avenue is through physical presence and word-of-mouth. Members of our executive will promote the WCJP and the events it runs in the lectures of all compulsory law papers – the lecturers give us some time to speak to students before the lectures. Additionally, the Summit is a well-established event on the Law School calendar, so returning students are well aware of it and tickets are in high demand. More generally, we ask volunteers to invite their friends and spread awareness of events among their peers.
